Tierney stays on loan at Carlisle

Carlisle United have extended the loan stay of Oldham Athletic full-back Marc Tierney for a second month.

Tierney, 19, has impressed in five games for the Cumbrians since signing as cover for the injured Tom Cowan.

"I'm pleased because he's a talented player who has wanted to be involved from the moment he got here,¿ boss Paul Simpson told Carlisle's website.

Simpson may look to keep Tierney for a longer spell but will wait to see if he figures in Oldham's future plans.
