Chester look at ex-Liverpool man

Chester

Chester City have invited former Liverpool and Accrington Stanley striker Mark Smyth to have a trial.

The 23-year-old is a former England Under-20 international and made one first-team appearance for Liverpool in a Carling Cup tie at Tottenham in 2004.

Last season he had spells at Welsh side Bangor City and with Leigh RMI in the Blue Square North.

City have also announced that defender Kevin Sandwith, 30, will leave after turning down a 12-month deal.

He had spent the past two seasons with Chester, making 59 appearances and scoring three goals.
