Spireites chairman sees 'new era'

Chesterfield

Chesterfield chairman Barrie Hubbard hopes the prospect of a new stadium will make up for the disappointment of failing to win promotion to League One.

The club missed the play-offs by one place and Hubbard conceded he may have been too focused on development plans.

He told the club's official website: "It looks as though next year will be our last full season at Saltergate.

"The prospects of a new owner and new stadium have all the hallmarks of a new era beginning for our football club."
