Hughes hopes for better next term
Coventry captain Stephen Hughes hopes his team will not be involved in another scrap at the wrong end of the Championship table next season.
The Sky Blues avoided relegation by just a single point despite losing on the final day at Charlton.
Hughes told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "I know the club are trying to rebuild and I'm sure they'll bring some different players in.
"Hopefully next year will be a completely different year for us."
The City midfielder was given the captaincy when Chris Coleman took over as the club's manager earlier this year.
Hughes continued: "The league's over 46 games, at the end of it you lie where you deserve to lie so we've just about done it this year.
"We've fallen over the line and that's the main thing.
"There are a lot of young lads in our team and I'm sure they'll grow with the experience."
