Coventry hope for Eastwood deal

Freddy Eastwood

Coventry City chairman Ray Ranson has revealed the club are hoping to sign Wolves striker Freddy Eastwood, as well as having several other targets.

He told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "Would we be interested in signing Eastwood? Yes.

"We've got several bids on the table for players.

"It's an ongoing daily process and needless to say the fax machine is working at the Ricoh. I'm speaking to clubs and agents all the time."

Ranson also admitted that manager Chris Coleman, the former boss of Basque outfit Real Sociedad, could use his influence on the continent to bring in new players.

He added: "We're not going to fill a team full of babies because that gets you nowhere.

"We need a nice combination but we won't be signing 34-year-old has-beens on £25,000-a-week."
