Daggers weighing up new signings

Dagenham & Redbridge are continuing the search for new signings ahead of their second campaign in League Two.

The Daggers have brought in just one new face so far this summer, Mark Nwokeji from Staines.

The Essex club have released five players and placed Marlon Patterson on the transfer list.

Chief executive Steve Thompson told BBC Essex: "Manager John Still is talking to lots of players at the moment and it remains to be seen who comes in."

Dagenham only avoided relegation from League Two on the penultimate Saturday of the season and are keen not to go through the same experience again.

They have one of the smallest budgets in the League and Thompson said they were also waiting to see how their long-term injured players were getting on.

He said: "Richard Graham, Paul Benson and Danny Foster spent a fair bit of last season out injured so we'll have to see how their recoveries have gone.

"We only saw Richard Graham for about 30 minutes last season so if he's fit and raring to go it'll be like buying a new player in."
