Gills captain targets promotion
New Gillingham club captain Mark Bentley says nothing but promotion will be good enough for the Medway side in the upcoming season.
The Gills were relegated to League Two on the final day of last season and have been installed as one of the favourites to bounce straight back.
Bentley told BBC Radio Kent: "Last season's now forgotten, we're going to show people that we're good enough.
"We came back in June and are going to prove the doubters wrong."
During the summer Gillingham have added striker Mark McCammon to the squad as well as former Stevenage goalkeeper Alan Julian.
Bentley's confidence in his side is echoed by attacking midfielder Adam Miller.
"I don't think there's anything in the league for us to worry about. It shapes up to be a good season, I'm glad we're favourites and I think we can prove why we are favourites," said Miller.
