Inverness manager Craig Brewster was disappointed with his side's second half performance as the Highlanders went down 1-0 to Hearts at Tynecastle.
The match looked like heading for a draw before Hearts teenager Gary Glen pounced to score an 80th-minute winner.
Brewster said: "Second half we didn't really assert ourselves at all and couldn't keep the ball.
"I think most people thought it was a nil-nil but credit to Hearts, Glen played a one-two and finished well."
On an afternoon of few chances for Caley Thistle, Brewster admits his team struggled against Hearts' central defensive partnership of captain Christophe Berra and Christos Karipidis.
"They're quality defenders. Karipidis has done really well in the last six months of the season," said the Inverness manager.
"They're big lads, they compete well and they protect that goalkeeper of theirs."
Inverness now look out of the race to finish seventh in the SPL but Brewster insists his players still have plenty to play for.
He said: "Players have always got pride to play for. They've always got that professionalism, trying to win as many games as possible and trying to climb as high up the league as possible.
"Some people think it's an end of season game. It's still points to be had."
