Hobbs completes move to Liverpool

Hobbs had to wait until his 17th birthday on 18 August to put pen to paper on the deal.

"It goes without saying I will never forget this birthday. This is a dream come true," Hobbs said.

The deal for the defender is likely to net the Imps up to £750,000 and includes a pre-season friendly against Liverpool at Sincil Bank in 2006.

Hobbs, who has been with Lincoln since he was nine, added: "If someone told me a year ago I would be a Liverpool player now, I wouldn't have believed them.

"This is unbelievable. I'm still pinching myself and it is a real opportunity for me.

"I only made my debut last season for Lincoln's first team against Bristol Rovers and although it was only for three minutes I really enjoyed it."

Liverpool beat off competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal, Tottenham and Bolton to bring the defender to Anfield.
