McInnes praises effort of players

St Johnstone boss Derek McInnes St Johnstone boss Derek McInnes was pleased with his players' form in the 1-0 Scottish Cup win at Ross County.

McInnes said: "We knew it was going to be tough up here but everything that was missing from our performance at Queen of the South, we brought here.

"It was a passionate performance. We worked hard, we got a bit of luck with the goal. I'm delighted we're through to the next round."

Saints will now face Dundee United or St Mirren in the quarter-finals.

The St Johnstone manager added: "We knew Ross County, given time to play, would hurt us, because they have some good players. We gave them a lot of respect."
