Striker Brighton joins St Mirren
St Mirren have signed former Scotland U21 and Clyde forward Tom Brighton on a pre-contract agreement from Millwall.
The 24-year-old former Rangers youth moved to The Den in June 2006 but injury blighted his first season and he has not featured at all this term.
"Tom will give us options up front - he is quick and strong," manager Gus MacPherson told the club website.
MacPherson also revealed defender Ian Maxwell and midfielder Richard Brittain have been released.
Maxwell signed for St Mirren from St Johnstone in 2005, while Brittain joined a year later from Livingston.
"I've spoken to Ian and Richard and told them we won't be extending their contracts," said MacPherson.
"Richard's been unfortunate with his injuries but as we're tightening the squad we also need to freshen it up."
