Martinez lays blame on his team

Roberto Martinez Swansea boss Roberto Martinez says his side have only themselves to blame after being dumped out of the FA Cup by minnows Havant & Waterlooville.

The Spaniard hit out at conceding four goals to the Blue Square South side who only had five chances all game.

But Martinez insisted the Swans will bounce back. He said: "We only have ourselves to blame.

"If you concede four goals out of five chances, you are not going to win a football game."

Havant & Waterlooville, who are 83 places below the Swans will now travel to Anfield for a mouth-watering fourth round tie with Liverpool.

And Martinez could not hide his disappointment.

"I hope the Swans pull themselves up very, very soon otherwise things might start going downhill "

"It's a hard pill to swallow especially with all the excitement we have in terms of trying to give something for our fans that they really deserved," he said.

"All the boys are really disappointed. We weren't ourselves in the way we defended and that was going to affect our rhythm going forward.

"To give a 3-0 lead is something that shouldn't happen.

"Sometimes you feel football has got some destiny in it and it doesn't matter what you do, you get punished and in that respect, there are many, many things that are disappointing.

"We really lost this tie at home when we created 24 chances and only scored one goal.

"But I can guarantee you we are going to bounce back and respond in the right way."
