The 2007 Your Game All-Stars

Click on the faces above to find out about the eight All-Stars.

In September 2007 eight young people from Newcastle through to Paignton went to the southern African country of Namibia for the Next Step conference as ambassadors of the Your Game project.

Next Step is a global sporting conference organised by UK Sport, which featured former athletics stars such as Dame Kelly Holmes, Ed Moses and Frankie Fredericks.

It also brought together organisations like the International Olympic Committee, FIFA and the UN and give them an equal placing alongside grass-roots projects from across the globe.

The concept is to share ideas on how sport can address social problems and show how powerful a tool it can be in recruiting those who otherwise feel marginalised.

And the All-Stars shared their experiences from this year's Your Game festivals with those gathered in the Namibian capital of Windhoek.

The eight are:

  • Zaynab Ahmed - Liverpool
  • David Connis - Solent
  • Karl Hall - Newcastle
  • Graham Lupepe - Nottingham
  • Jamal Othman - Manchester
  • Kyle Stewart - West London
  • Terence Wallen - Birmingham
  • Kate Wilson - Bristol
