The rundown on fitness classes

Spinning

It seems every time you visit a gym there is a new type of fitness class added to the timetable.

And now is the perfect time to take advantage of a whole range of sessions that can appeal to the beginner or those looking for a new challenge.

Whisper it quietly, but boxercise has been far more popular with men since it was introduced, even though it is very similar to aerobics.

Here BBC Sport Academy runs over some of the more popular classes. Nearly all of them can be done at your local gym, leisure centre or YMCA.
