JAPAN

Fuji Speedway with Mount Fuji in the background Fuji returned to the Formula One calendar for the first time in 20 years as a replacement for Suzuka thanks to heavy lobbying from owner Toyota.

There are a couple of good, challenging corners, particularly 100R, and a mile-long straight to aid overtaking.

And on clear days there are fabulous views to the dormant volcano of Mount Fuji, the national symbol of Japan.

But as an overall challenge for drivers, Fuji lags a long way behind its marvellous predecessor.
