Nick Heidfeld

Not quite such a safe pair of hands

Nick Heidfeld

Nick Heidfeld is having a torrid time with BMW Sauber this season, having been comprehensively outpaced by team-mate Robert Kubica.

The worry for him is that he does not seem to be able to do much about it.

That is a big change from last year, when Kubica struggled and Heidfeld generally had a handle on him.

Heidfeld had begun erasing his image as a steady and reliable driver who was not ultimately quick, and will struggle to undo the damage wrought this year.
