Farquhar happy with new Kawasakis

Ryan Farquhar

Ryan Farquhar believes his new Kawasaki ZX-10 Superbike is "the bike to be on" at this year's Isle of Man TT Races.

"The Superbike is great and we will get a lot more horsepower out of the 600 bike this year," said Farquhar, at the launch of this year's TT in Douglas.

"Eight or ten riders have a realistic chance of winning and it will come down to the team who put in the biggest effort and get the best bike set-up.

"I know I can win again and I should be in with a shout in every class."

The Dungannon rider already has two TT wins to his name but did not make a major impact at the Centenary event last year.

"When you have bad results, it's always the rider who gets the blame and a lot of people started to doubt my ability.

"Although the first half of the season was a disaster, I had wins at Faugheen, a hat-trick at the Mid Antrim and then won the Superstock race at the Ulster Grand Prix.

"I have had good times with the McAdoo Racing team in the past and am glad to link up with them again for this season, as well as continuing my association with Kenny Harker.

"Ryan has been with us a long time and we know he is capable of winning races"

"You often think the grass is greener on the other side and although I had quite a good year with MSS Kawasaki in 2005, the following season was a wipeout due to injury."

Farquhar is in the middle of an intensive training schedule, but has made some adjustments to his workout routines.

"I have changed my training a lot this year as pretty much all I did before was cardiovascular, all running and cycling.

"I am now concentrating a lot more on muscle endurance and that should help me to give 100 per cent for the full six laps of a TT race."

Jason McAdoo of McAdoo Racing added that "the Kawasakis are top bikes and we have a top man on them".

"Ryan has been with us a long time and we know he is capable of winning races.

"We have a great relationship with him and firmly believe he is still a top rider.

"The Superbike has been really impressive in all the testing we have done and we are hopeful we will get a lot more power from the 600."
