Triple defeat misery for Yuan Gao
Defending women's singles champion Rita Yuan Gao had a day to forget at the Scottish badminton championships as she lost three finals in one day.
Commonwealth bronze medallist and top seed Susan Hughes clinched the singles title 22-20 21-18, before the duo teamed up for the women's doubles.
There, they lost 21-14 21-16 to Imogen Bankier and Emma Mason.
Yuan Gao's miserable day ended as she and Andrew Bowman lost to Bankier and Watson Briggs in the mixed doubles.
In the men's singles, defending champion Gordon Thomson was beaten 21-19 21-11 in the final by Craig Goddard.
In the men's doubles, former champions Briggs and Bowman were on opposite sides of the net, partnering Thomas Bethell and David Gilmour respectively.
Bowman and Gilmour came out on top in that one, triumphing 21-15 21-19.
