Pendleton misses golden hat-trick
Reigning champion Victoria Pendleton missed out on gold in the final of the keirin at the Track Cycling World Championships in Manchester.
The 27-year-old had looked imperious in the rounds, but got her tactics wrong in the final, finishing second behind the USA's Jennie Reed.
Pendleton adds the silver to her two golds from the sprints.
The result means Britain finishes the championships with nine gold and two silver medals.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Pendleton said: "I missed the move and had to make a second attack.
"I used a slightly bigger gear in the final, but I lost my balance and rhythm for a split second in the back straight.
"I really wanted to win that and I thought I had the legs for it.
"It should have been mine. I'd better get it back next time [at the World Championships]!"

"I'm running out of adjectives to describe the British performance"
BBC Sport's Jill Douglas
Matthew Crampton narrowly missed out on bronze in the men's one kilometre time trial.
The 21-year-old set a personal-best time of 1min 1.822secs but he missed out on third place by 0.243secs.
Former kilometre time trial champion Chris Hoy did not enter, as the kilo is now a non-Olympic event.
Britain surpassed their performance at the 2007 championships in Palma, where they won seven golds.
