Woods claims new marathon record
Blackpool wheelchair racer Shelly Woods set a new British record in Sunday's Padova Marathon in Italy.
The 21-year-old improved her previous best of 1:40.15 set in Switzerland last year with a new mark of 1:37.44 over the fast Italian course.
Woods finished in third place, two minutes behind Switzerland's Sandra Graf, the London Marathon champion.
Woods will now switch her attentions to the track for next month's Paralympic World Cup in Manchester.
