Conquest unlikely to make Derby
Trainer Dermot Weld has indicated his horse Casual Conquest will miss next month's Epsom Derby.
The colt, ridden by Pat Smullen, thrashed opponents, including second-placed Washington Irving, in Leopardstown's Derrinstown Derby Trial.
Casual Conquest is entered only in the French and Irish Derbies, though he could be added to the Epsom line-up.
Weld said: "I will speak to the owners, but it's a pity the supplementary entry fee (£75,000) is so high."
