Improve your basic catching
Like the basic pass, the basic catch is another skill every rugby player needs to master.
It is a very simple skill to learn and it will help you become a much better all-round player.
Masterclass: Rugby league basics
Be aware, alert and expect to receive a pass at anytime.
STEP ONE
Make a target. Your hands should be at chest height, with your thumbs up and fingers spread.
Extend your hands towards the ball.
But don't overstretch, otherwise you will lose your balance.
STEP TWO
Watch the ball into your hands.
Depending on the situation, you may decide to take the ball early or late.
