O'Brien suffers loss in Slovenia

Katie O'Brien

British number three Katie O'Brien could not make the quarter-finals at the Slovenia Open, losing 6-3 6-2 to world number 65 Vera Dushevina.

The 22-year-old from Yorkshire claimed one of the best results of her career in the first round by beating fifth seed Tsvetana Pironkova.

But O'Brien, who is ranked 150 in the world, had problems with her serve against the 21-year-old Russian.

She was broken six times in the second round match in Portoroz.
